Portugal Mortgage Documents Required

The following documents are required when applying for a mortgage in Portugal

All Applicants wishing to apply for a mortgage in Portugal

• Fully completed and signed bank application forms
• Proof of address – Copy of a recent Utility bill
• Proof of identity – Copy of your valid passport & fiscal number
• Proof of identity – Copy of your birth certificate
• Last 3 month personal bank statement.
• Copy of your most recent mortgage statement for all mortgages that appear on your bank statements.
• Bank reference letter confirming you as a customer and that your account(s) are held satisfactorily.

Employed Applicants

• Employer’s letter on headed paper to confirm you are employed in a permanent position.
• Copies of your last 3 month payslips
• Copy of your latest P60

Self-Employed Applicants

• Last years profit & loss accounts
• Latest tax return
• For majority shareholders / Directors where income is solely from the Company – last 3 months business bank accounts.
